AFP, Getty Images agree video deal

 AFP - Wednesday, April 1
PARIS (AFP) - - Agence France-Presse and Getty Images have signed a deal which allows the international news and photo agencies to market their video output in English worldwide, they said in a statement Tuesday.

The deal will allow AFP to offer more entertainment coverage to clients who already subscribe to its output of news, business and sports.
Getty has an existing agreement with AFP under which the agency distributes its photographic output around the world.
"AFP and Getty Images have enjoyed a global partnership in imagery for many years," said Erik Monjalous, AFP's marketing director.
"It is only logical to extend it now to video, a medium in worldwide expansion."
AFPTV has 40 production units across the world, from hot spots such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and Gaza, to the major capitals such as Washington, London, Moscow, Berlin and Madrid.
Getty Images produces video coverage of major events in the entertainment calendar such as the Oscars, the Grammys, the Golden Globes and major film premieres and festivals.
