The host of "Late Show with David Letterman" said in the taping of his Monday show that he will try to patch things up with Regina, whom he married in March after dating for more than 20 years. The two have a 5-year-old son, Harry. Record labels sue Guns N' Roses for copying songs NEW YORK - Two independent record labels sued U.S. rock band Guns N' Roses for $1 million, claiming the group used portions of two songs by a German musician on their last album "Chinese Democracy." Guns N' Roses and Universal Music Group's Interscope-Geffen A&M label were sued by British label Independiente and the U.S. arm of Domino Recording Company, who own the licensing rights to songs by German electronic musician Ulrich Schnauss. MTV to premiere DJ AM addiction series next Monday LOS ANGELES - MTV is going forward with the late DJ AM's "Intervention"-style reality series "Gone Too Far," which will premiere next Monday. DJ AM, a.k.a. Adam Goldstein, was a recovering addict who died of a drug overdose in August during production of "Gone Too Far," in which he sought to help fellow sufferers. Argentine singer Mercedes Sosa dies at 74 BUENOS AIRES - Argentine folk singer Mercedes Sosa, who fought South America's dictators with her voice and became a giant of contemporary Latin American music, died on Sunday at age 74, her family said in a statement. Sosa had been in intensive care in a hospital for days with kidney problems. Her body was taken to the Congress building in Buenos Aires for public visitation Sunday afternoon and her remains were to be cremated on Monday, local media reported. "Zombieland" top destination at U.S. box office LOS ANGELES - Woody Harrelson scored the biggest opening of his career at the North American box office, as "Zombieland" stormed theaters with weekend ticket sales of $25 million, according to studio estimates issued on Sunday. The comedy ended the two-week reign of children's comedy "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs," which slipped to No. 2 with $16.7 million. Both films were released by Columbia Pictures, a unit of Sony Corp. Rapper Jim Jones pleads guilty to New York assault NEW YORK - U.S. rapper Jim Jones pleaded guilty on Monday to misdemeanor assault charges related to a fight in Manhattan's Louis Vuitton store last December. Jones, 33, pleaded guilty to punching Jayvon Smith, who had accompanied R&B singer Ne-Yo to the Fifth Avenue luxury clothing store. He was sentenced by New York State Supreme Court Judge Robert Mandelbaum to time already served. Big in Japan, but could America love Moomin? HELSINKI - In one of the quirkiest book cults America has never heard of, a round-snouted troll is hauling consumers' wallets from their pockets despite the worst recession in decades. The license-holders for Moomin, who say license sales increased 35 percent this year, are contemplating expansion. "Drinking" is terrific fun with Carrie Fisher NEW YORK - If anyone has amassed enough material for a tell-all one-person show, it's Carrie Fisher. In "Wishful Drinking," running at New York's Studio 54 through January 3, the actress-writer relates in alternately harrowing and hilarious fashion her pedigree as the offspring of two major show business stars; her addictions to booze and drugs; her failed marriages to singer Paul Simon and Hollywood agent Bryan Lourd, the latter of whom left her for another man; her struggles with bipolar disorder; her best friend's dying in her bed while she was sleeping next to him; and, of course, her iconic role as Princess Leia in the original "Star Wars" trilogy. A valentine for "New York, I Love You" LOS ANGELES - "New York, I Love You" continues the "Cities of Love" series that began with "Paris je t'aime," far surpassing it. Although a few of the film's 10 vignettes fail to coalesce within their allotted eight minutes, and the inevitable final twist becomes predictable, most of these linked "shorts" succeed remarkably in nailing the serendipitous flavor of love, New York-style. "Parade" makeover a neglected masterpiece LOS ANGELES feels like a long-delayed vindication of a separate injustice: the inexplicable obscurity of this watershed musical, which evokes the rapturous sweep of grand opera.
