Miley Cyrus's image hits a new low. Or, is it high?
 
LOS ANGELES - Home video of singer Miley Cyrus using a bong apparently to smoke the hallucinogenic herb salvia hit the Internet on Friday, capping a year which has seen the teen star throw aside her squeaky clean Disney image. The video obtained by celebrity website TMZ.com was said to have been shot days after Cyrus's 18th birthday in November.
 
Jazz great James Moody dies of cancer, age 85
 
LOS ANGELES - Jazz saxophonist James Moody, a master of improvisation who was best known for his "Moody's Mood for Love," has died in San Diego after a 10-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 85. Moody died on Thursday at the San Diego Hospice and Institute for Palliative care, where he had been since earlier this week, his wife Linda Moody said in a post on his website.

NEW YORK - Sometimes I need to remind myself that 'TiK ToK' only went to No. 1 in January," Ke$ha says of her party-hearty electro-pop jam. "Because it kind of feels like it was 17 years ago." Doesn't it, though? As far as new artists go, 2010 more or less belonged to this 23-year-old Nashville native, who released her hit debut, "Animal," in January, then followed it up last month with a nine-track mini-album, "Cannibal."
 
No bloodbath for "Dexter" season finale, producer says
 
LOS ANGELES - "Dexter" reaches its season 5 finale on Sunday, but the executive producer of the Showtime serial killer show said viewers should not expect the kind of bloodbath that marked the climax of Season 4. The Hollywood Reporter spoke with executive producer Sara Colleton about what is in store for "Dexter" fans.
 
TV show "The Closer" to end in 2011
 
LOS ANGELES - Emmy-winning actress Kyra Sedgwick is about to solve her last murder as the charming but tough detective Brenda Leigh Johnson on TV show "The Closer." The TNT network said on Friday that "The Closer " -- the most popular series on basic cable television -- would end in 2011 after seven years.

NEW YORK - MTV's "Skins", an adaptation of the hit British show about a clutch of libidinous teens, has yet to premiere in the U.S. But the claws have been out for months. The original British series frankly explored controversial themes including sexual orientation, drug and alcohol use, family dysfunction and mental illness including eating disorders.

In the darkened Ritz Theater in Wilmington, N.C., he sat mesmerized as newsreel footage showed the famous tricksters of basketball going through their paces to the delight of fans.
