Search web search Home Singapore Asia Pacific World Business Entertainment Sports Technology Singapore Asia Pacific World Mando's 2 top owners to hold over 30 pct after IPO Reuters - Monday, April 19 Send IM Story Print SEOUL, April 19 - Top shareholders of South Korean auto parts maker Mando Corp, including its chairman, are planning to own more than 30 percent in the company after its May IPO, a Mando executive said on Monday. The company, which produces brake, steering and suspension systems of automotive chassis parts, is seeking to raise up to $487 million from its initial public offering next month. [ID:nTOE63F05L] "Halla Construction <014790.KS> and our chairman are planning to maintain over 30 percent after our IPO," Sung Il-mo, Mando's executive vice president and chief planning and control officer, told reporters at a news conference. "Other shareholders, including KCC <002380.KS>, are financial investors and may cash them out at an appropriate time." Chairman Chung Mong-won and Halla Construction hold a combined 35 percent in Mando, followed by KCC with 30 percent. Both Halla and KCC are offering a combined 2 million shares for the IPO, or a third of the float. Shares in Halla rose 3.98 percent to 17,000 won as of 0404 GMT, outperforming the broader market <.KS11>. Mando CEO Byun Zung-su told the news conference that the company was aiming to grow annual sales by 20 percent to be ranked among the world's top 50 car parts makers and better compete with sector leader Bosch [ROBG.UL]. With capital of 891 billion won, it earned a net profit of 109.1 billion won last year. Hyundai Motor Co <005380.KS>, Kia Motors Corp <000270.KS> and General Motors [GM.UL] account for 80 percent of Mando's sales.
