Washington, D.C., DC, United States (AHN) - Luci Baines Johnson, the younger of late President Lyndon Baines Johnson, was hospitalized at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota last week.
Johnson, 62, was admitted to the intensive care unit on Friday because of symptoms of Guillain-Barre syndrome.
The illness is a rare autoimmune disorder that affects the peripheral nervous system.
Johnson was taken to Seton Medical Center Austin Wednesday after complaining of extreme muscle weakness.
Johnson is the younger of President Johnson and his wife Lady Bird’s two daughters. She has four grown children, a stepson and 12 grandchildren.
