KARACHI, Dec 14 - Following is a list of events in Pakistan as well as news stories and press reports which may influence financial markets.

* The Supreme Court is due to resume a hearing of challenges to a controversial amnesty order that cleared graft and criminal charges against the president and other senior politicians.
MARKET SNAPSHOTS
* The rupee <PKR=> closed weaker at 84.06/11 on Saturday compared with Friday's close of 83.95/84.05 because payments of imports. [PKR/]
* The benchmark Karachi Stock Exchange <.KSE> 100-share ended 0.42 percent, or 37.91 points, higher at 9,037.30 on turnover of 68.24 million shares.
* U.S. stocks rose on Friday after several solid consumer-related reports reinforced investors' confidence in a steady recovery by the economy.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> gained 65.67 points, or 0.63 percent, to 10,471.50. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> gained 4.06 points, or 0.37 percent, to 1,106.41. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 0.55 point, or 0.03 percent, at 2,190.31. [.N]
* U.S. crude futures fell as much as $1 to below $69 a barrel in electronic trade on Monday, extending declines into a ninth day, hurt by worries over high oil inventories and a strong dollar.
NYMEX crude for January delivery <CLc1> was down 54 cents at $69.33 a barrel by 0100 GMT, after falling as much as 41.01 to $68.86 earlier. On Friday, it settled down 67 cents.[O/R]
* Gold prices rose and moved away from four-week lows on Monday as the dollar reversed course and dipped against a basket of major currencies, paring gains made after an upbeat U.S. economic data late last week.
Spot gold <XAU=> inched up 0.6 percent to $1,120.05 per ounce as of 0150 GMT.[GOL/]
