KARACHI, Dec 13 - Following is a list of events in Pakistan as well as news stories and press reports which may influence financial markets.

MARKET SNAPSHOTS
* The rupee <PKR=> ended weaker at 85.80/85 to the dollar, compared with Thursday's close of 85.70/75 because of an increase in import payments, especially for oil. [PKR/]
* The Karachi Stock Exchange's benchmark 100-share index <.KSE> ended 0.44 percent, or 51.06 points, higher at 11,620.15.
Turnover was 233 million shares, compared to 195.49 million shares traded on Thursday. [.KA]
* Foreign investors sold shares worth a net $478,916 on Friday.
* U.S. stocks rose on Friday, with the S&P 500 at its highest level since the week Lehman Brothers collapsed in 2008, and breaching technical levels that suggest the year-end rally will persist.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> added 40.26 points, or 0.35 percent, to 11,410.32. The Standard & Poor's 500 <.SPX> gained 7.40 points, or 0.60 percent, to 1,240.40. The Nasdaq Composite <.IXIC> rose 20.87 points, or 0.80 percent, to 2,637.54. [.N]
* Oil prices were steady to higher on Monday after the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries met over the weekend and agreed to keep crude oil output levels flat.
U.S. crude for January <CLc1> rose 29 cents to $88.08 a barrel by 0258 GMT. ICE Brent <LCOc1> rose 16 cents to $90.64. [O/R]
* Spot gold held steady on Monday as healthy physical demand helped buoy prices, while China's move to further tighten its monetary policy and upbeat U.S. economic data weighed on sentiment.
Spot gold <XAU=> gained by 0.2 percent to $1,385.29 an ounce by 0304 GMT, after falling by 2.2 percent last week. [GOL/]
