SINGAPORE - A 6.1 magnitude earthquake shook the Philippine capital Manila on Thursday.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage, but residents in the capital's central business district said they felt the tremor and that office buildings swayed.

The United States Geological Survey said the quake was centred 66 miles west of the city of Batangas, south of Manila.
