South Korean won extends gains against dollar
Reuters - Friday, November 7
SEOUL, Nov 7 - The South Korean won extended gains to more than 2.5 percent over the previous close against the dollar on Friday in a dramatic upswing from an early drop of nearly 3 percent on the day.
The won <KRW=> rose to as high as 1,294.9 per dollar, compared with Thursday's domestic close <KRW=KFTC> of 1,330.8, representing more than a 5.5 percent bounce from its session low set at 1,367.9 early in the morning.
Several dealers had reported suspected dollar-selling by South Korean authorities earlier, but it was not clear whether there was further intervention.
