ShareThis February 21, 2010 9:24 a.m. EST Topics: transport accident, disaster and accident, accident, United States David Goodhue - AHN Reporter Melbourne, FL, United States (AHN) - Three teenage girls were struck and killed by a train while crossing a trestle spanning a central Florida creek early Saturday night. Police in the town of Melbourne said a fourth teen was with the girls, but was ahead of them, when the train approached over the Crane Creek bridge. Florida Today reports that he yelled a warning to the girls that the train was coming, but they couldn't get out of the way in time. The names of the girls have not been released. The accident is being investigated by Melbourne police and police from the Florida East Coast Railway, according to local television station WESH, NBC.
