New Jersey Priest Found Dead; Police Suspect Homicide

Chatam Borough, NJ (AHN) - A New Jersey priest was found beaten to death at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church Friday morning.
Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi warned that residents should exercise caution, as police suspect that death was a homicide, the New Jersey Star-Ledger reported.
Rev. Edward "Father Ed" Hinds, 61, was discovered badly beaten on the floor of the rectory's kitchen by a church janitor. Parishioners grew concerned when the ever-punctual Father Ed didn't show up for 8 a.m. Mass.
In a press conference, Bianchi said Hinds died as a result of severe trauma.
Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli of the Paterson Diocese told CNN that killing made no sense, as Hinds was well-loved by the community.
Police have no suspect yet in the crime, and authorities did not discuss possible motives.
