Michael Jackson auction canceled, exhibit continues

BEVERLY HILLS - A huge auction of Michael Jackson memorabilia scheduled for next week was canceled on Tuesday and auctioneers agreed to return all the items to the singer. Auctioneer Darren Julien told Reuters the cancellation of the planned April 22-25 sale was the result of an agreement with Jackson, who had filed a lawsuit in March demanding the return of certain items.
Paul McCartney honors George Harrison in Hollywood
LOS ANGELES - Former Beatle George Harrison received a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, with a little help from such friends as Paul McCartney, Eric Idle and Tom Hanks. As about one thousand fans looked on, Harrison's star was unveiled outside the landmark Capitol Records tower by his Los Angeles-born widow Olivia and 30-year-old son Dhani.
Lindsay Lohan looks for love on the Web
LOS ANGELES - Lindsay Lohan is looking for a lover who does not mind her alleged alcoholism or electronic monitoring bracelet, or so the famously troubled Hollywood actress said in a mock Internet dating profile. Lohan, whose recent breakup with Samantha Ronson has been covered by the media, stars in an a dating profile posted online on Monday at FunnyOrDie.com that parodies similar videos created for matchmaking company eHarmony.
Michael Vick seeks reality-show deal
LOS ANGELES - Michael Vick is hoping to play the reality game. The incarcerated NFL star has talked to producers about launching an unscripted program. The proposed documentary series would follow Vick beginning July 20, the day of his scheduled release from federal custody, and show him trying to "make amends for his past."
NBC renews "Law & Order: SVU"
LOS ANGELES - NBC has renewed "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," but the two stars of the show, Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni, still have no deals to return. After lengthy talks, the network has closed a pact with Wolf Films to bring the veteran crime drama back for an 11th season.
Colbert lost in space when NASA names station node
LOS ANGELES - NASA on Tuesday named its new living quarters on the International Space Station "Tranquillity," denying television comedian Stephen Colbert his attempt to get the new Node 3 named after himself. Astronaut Sunita L. Williams, appearing on "The Colbert Report" on cable TV network Comedy Central, said NASA will name the new module Tranquility, instead of Colbert as he and his fans demanded after winning an online poll conducted by NASA.
NBC recruits Blagojevich as reality star
LOS ANGELES - Rod Blagojevich, recently removed from office as governor of Illinois, has made a deal to star in NBC's upcoming summer reality show "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here," the network confirmed Tuesday. "Rod Blagojevich will be a participant on the show pending the court's approval," NBC said.
"Hell's Angels '69" director Lee Madden dies at 82
LOS ANGELES - Lee Madden, who directed the cult film "Hell's Angels '69," died of complications from pneumonia on Thursday in Camarillo, Calif. He was 82. Madden's first film was the 1969 release "Hell's Angels" for American International Pictures. The film starred the real Oakland Hell's Angels, including Sonny Barger, then the president of the Angels. It was the only fiction film in which the gang ever participated.
Sean "Diddy" Combs booked for "The Greek"
LOS ANGELES - Elisabeth Moss, Sean Combs and Rose Byrne have joined the cast of the rock 'n' roll comedy "Get Him to the Greek." Nicholas Stoller is directing the Apatow Prods. pic, which stars Jonah Hill and Russell Brand. Universal Pictures will release the film in 2010.
