Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) - Bradley Cooper is having second thoughts about returning to the spy genre. Cooper, who starred on the spy series "Alias" with Jennifer Garner (and appeared with Cooper in this month's "Valentine's Day"), dropped out of "This Meanss War," a spy comedy he had been attached to star in.
Cooper was set to star in the comedy which centered on two spy best friends who both fall for the same woman, played by Reese Witherspoon. But according to Entertainment Weekly, Twentieth Century Fox said he had to drop the project, which has been in development for years, because it conflicted with the shooting schedule for "The Hangover 2."
Cooper wouldn't have to go in front of the cameras for "The Hangover 2" until Fall, while "This Means War" was set to shoot in the Summer, which shows that Cooper probably thought long and hard about taking on the role for a script which has been in rewrites since 1998. "Role Models" screenwriter Timothy Dowling took the latest stab at the project. "Terminator Salvation" direct McG was in negotiations to direct.
But Cooper, who had three major movies released to theaters last year, could afford to be a bit more selective with his projects. Before Cooper starts work on the sequel to $277 million-grossing "Hangover," he'll play opposite his "Valentine's Day" co-star Jessica Biel in this summer's "The A-Team."
