Windsor Genova - AHN News News Writer
Phoenix, AZ, United States (AHN) - Two women are in critical condition at a Phoenix hospital Friday after a swarm of bees attacked them Thursday night.
The two women aged 55 and 75 were walking around 3rd Avenue and Bell Road when the bees swarmed and attacked them. Both received hundreds of bee stings, according to firefighters.
Firefighters who arrived at the scene saw the two women rolling on the ground and covered with bees Thursday night.
A man in his 20s tried to help the two women by using a fire extinguisher from his truck, but he also attacked and stung. He was hospitalized.
Firefighters searched for the beehive and took it down.
