Portland, OR, United States (AHN) - The father of missing Oregon boy Kyron Horman has left his wife who police are now making the focus of their investigation into the boy's disappearance.
Kaine Horman served his wife Terri with a restraining order and divorce papers Monday, according to local reports. He also moved out of the couple's home and took their 18-month-old daughter with him.
Terri Horman was the last person to see 7-year-old Kyron, when she told police she dropped him off at his elementary school earlier in the month. Kyron never made it to his classroom following an early morning science fair.
Speculation has been mounting that Terri Horman may know more about the second-grader's disappearance. She's been the focus of intense questioning following contradictory explanations about her whereabouts the day Kyron went missing.
According to cell phone records she made numerous calls from an island near the boy's school on the day he disappeared. Searchers and investigators have made the location an area of significant interest for clues to the second grader's vanishing.
Kyron's biological parents have now said they are limiting their comments to the media in an attempt to not interfere with the ongoing investigation. Terri Horman's name was absent in a statement issued Monday night from the boy's parents and stepfather.
