Search web search Home Singapore Asia Pacific World Business Entertainment Sports Technology Singapore Asia Pacific World Noodle giant plans secondary listing in Taiwan - paper Reuters - Saturday, September 26 Send IM Story Print TAIPEI, Sept 26 - The company behind Master Kong, a giant instant noodle brand in China, plans to offer a depositary receipt in Taiwan for a secondary listing on the island, a local newspaper said on Saturday. The Hong Kong-listed Tingyi Group <0322.HK>, of which Taiwan-managed Master Kong is an unlisted unit, would raise T$10 billion for its Taiwan Depositary Receipt , the Economic Daily News reported. The company, with tens of thousands of retailers in China, posted a record net profit of $362 million last year. Company officials were not available for comment on Saturday. The Taiwan Stock Exchange <.TWII> said on Friday it was "optimistic" about the TDR offer, the newspaper said. Many Taiwan firms have listed in Hong Kong and Singapore due to previous restrictions that kept them from listing in Taiwan if a large portion of their assets were based in China. But under President Ma Ying-jeou, who took office in May 2008, many of the restrictions have been eased or scrapped altogether in a bid to help boost the island's economy. Company shares closed at a one-year high on Friday.
