HELSINKI - Nokia <NOK1V.HE> and Microsoft <MSFT.O> unveiled on Wednesday the first result of their new software collaboration aimed at breaking the dominance of Research in Motion's <RIM.TO> BlackBerry in wireless services for corporations. Nokia and Microsoft, at one time fierce rivals in the mobile telecommunications business, announced the alliance in August 2009. They expect to offer Nokia phones running Microsoft's Office programs later this year.
HP names Microsoft veteran to lead software
SAN FRANCISCO - Hewlett-Packard Co <HPQ.N> on Wednesday named Microsoft Corp <MSFT.O> veteran Bill Veghte to lead its enterprise software business. Regulators mull antitrust look at Apple: source
SAN FRANCISCO - Regulators are considering an inquiry into whether Apple Inc violates antitrust law by requiring that its programing tools be used to write applications for the iPad and iPhone, a source familiar with the matter said on Monday. The news comes amidst a high-profile dustup between Apple and Adobe Systems Inc <ADBE.O>, which makes the widely used Flash software to provide video and build games.

Apple iPad reaches 1 million sales faster than iPhone
NEW YORK/SAN FRANCISCO - Apple Inc <AAPL.O> has sold 1 million iPads since their April 3 launch, as the company passed that sales milestone faster than many analysts had expected. Apple said on Monday that the 9.7-inch touchscreen iPad -- a new category of device that combines the mobility of a smartphone with the speed of a laptop -- reached the million sales mark in only 28 days.
Connecticut AG probing Craigslist on paid-sex ads
LOS ANGELES - Craigslist.com was subpoenaed on Monday by Connecticut's attorney general, who is investigating whether the popular online classified ad service is doing enough to quash prostitution on its site and whether it may be profiting from it. Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, who is co-heading a group of 39 states looking into the matter, said in a statement that thousands of ads remain on Craigslist despite assurances from the company they would be removed.
IBM buys cloud computing software firm Cast Iron
NEW YORK - IBM <IBM.N> said it bought privately held software company Cast Iron Systems to bolster its expertise in cloud computing, an increasingly popular technology that helps companies cut costs by enabling access to software online. China guards against "overseas hostile forces" on Web
BEIJING - China's media regulator vowed a crackdown on online crimes and strengthened monitoring to prevent "overseas hostile forces from infiltrating through the Internet," state media said on Monday. Wang Chen, head of the Information Office of the State Council, said on Friday the country would intensify a crackdown on online crimes as part of an ongoing campaign that he said netted more than 5,510 suspects last year.
HP tablet plans draw interest after Palm deal
SAN FRANCISCO - Hewlett-Packard Co <HPQ.N> hopes its planned $1.2 billion acquisition of Palm Inc <PALM.O> will not only give it solid foundation in the growing smartphone market, but also provide it with a platform for other mobile devices, including tablets. HP has made it clear that its plans for Palm, an early pioneer in handheld devices, include products beyond just smartphones.
