Taiwan working with China on WHA status
By PETER ENAV,Associated Press Writer AP - 2 hours 30 minutes ago
TAIPEI, Taiwan - A Taiwanese official says the island is still "working on" resolving the issue of the island's representation in the World Health Assembly after a newspaper reported that China had agreed to Taiwan's participation as an observer.

The Mainland Affairs Council official would not comment directly on Monday's report in Taiwan's China Times.
She spoke on condition of anonymity because she is not authorized to deal with the press.
Relations between China and Taiwan have improved greatly since Ma Ying-jeou became the island's president 11 months ago.
But Taiwan is shut out of most major international organizations because China regards the self-ruled island as part of its territory. The two sides split amid civil war in 1949.
