LONDON (AFP) - – Rising female artists Lily Allen, Lady GaGa, Pixie Lott and Florence And The Machine will battle it out Tuesday as the Brit Awards celebrate their 30th birthday. The extrovert singers nabbed three nominations each in what's been dubbed 'the battle of the babes' on the biggest night of the year for the British music industry. Allen, Lott and Florence Welch go head to head in the coveted best female category, alongside Bat For Lashes and Leona Lewis. London-born singer Allen, who remains without an award despite four nominations in 2007, is also in the running for best album and best single for her song "The Fear". She said it was "a huge honour for me to have my music recognised in this way by the Brits." Newcomer Lott spoke of her pride about being included in the current crop of women artists. "I'm just really excited," the singer told Sky News. "British females have really taken over, it's definitely Girl Power; females are leading at the moment!" Robbie Williams, who has won a record-breaking 11 awards, will be looking to up his tally after making the best male shortlist alongside Calvin Harris, Dizzee Rascal, Mika and Paolo Nutini. But he is guaranteed to grace the podium at least once during the star-studded ceremony in Earls Court tonight, when he picks up his award for outstanding contribution to music. To celebrate the anniversary edition of the awards event, organisers have added two new categories. They will be handing out prizes for the best Brit performance and best album of the past three decades. One name missing from the list of nominees is Susan Boyle. The star, who found fame after appearing in TV show "Britain's Got Talent", topped the charts in the UK and US with worldwide sales of "I Dreamed A Dream" totalling more than six million. The event, which will be hosted by comedian Peter Kay, boasts performances from rap superstar Jay-Z, Girls Aloud's Cheryl Cole, former Take That singer Williams and worldwide bestseller Lady Gaga.
