S.Korea to meet investors on won bonds, economy
Reuters - Sunday, November 23
SEOUL, Nov 23 - South Korea will hold a meeting with international investors in Singapore to promote won-denominated treasury bonds and its economy, the finance ministry said on Sunday.
The event comes as the government is discussing a 10 trillion won fund aimed at supporting the local corporate bond market and concerns mount over the health of Asia's fourth-largest economy amid the spreading global downturn.
The South Korean delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Strategy and Finance Shin Je-yoon, will host a meeting on Monday with officials from financial firms including Deutsche Bank, Prudential <PRU.L>, UBS <UBSN.VX>, AIG <AIG.N> and AXA <AXAF.PA>, the ministry said in a statement.
It will also hold separate meetings with Schroder, the Government of Singapore Investment Corp and rating agency Standard & Poor's.
