Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) - Neil Patrick Harris and Oprah are among the next recipients of a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. Also set to be immortalized with a star are Penelope Cruz, Tina Fey, will.i.am, and the Muppets.
The stars were divided into four categories: Motion Pictures, Television, Recording, and Live Performance/Theater.
Among those who made it in the film category are Cruz, Bruce Dern, Laura Dern, Diane Ladd, The Muppets, Kenny Ortega, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ridley Scott, Sissy Spacek, Donald Sutherland, and Reese Witherspoon.
Danny DeVito, Simon Fuller, John Langley, Ed O'Neill, John Wells join Winfrey, Harris and Fey for the TV section.
Melissa Etheridge, Los Tigres Del Norte, Rascal Flatts, Go-Go's, Slash, Bebe & Cece Winans and will.i.am are set to be honored in the recording category. Buddy Holly and Louis Prima are up for posthumous honors.
Joe Mantegna is the sole recipient in the Live Performance/Theater category.
John Pavlik, chair of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Committee, said, "It was not an easy job to widdle down the extra large number of nominations this year to reach these 30 names and many deserving names were left for future consideration."
"But the placement of stars for these famous celebrities will give fans and tourists some fun and exciting close encounters next year, such as a rare family dedication, when three stars will be placed during the same ceremony for actors Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd and their daughter Laura Dern."
"Next year will be another exhilarating year on Hollywood Boulevard."
