WHAT IS HAPPENING IN PAKISTAN, ALL TIMES LOCAL FOLLOWED BY GMT:

* In the currency market, the rupee <PKR=> ended weaker at 85.45/52 to the dollar on Friday, compared with 85.35/40 a day earlier, and dealers said they expected the local unit to stay around the current levels for now. [PKR/]
* The KSE benchmark 100-share index <.KSE> fell 0.32 percent, or 31 points, to end at 9,645.71 on turnover of 134.42 million shares. [.KA]
* The net outflow of foreign portfolio investment in the stock market was $2.13 million on Friday.
* U.S. stocks inched higher in another lightly traded session on Friday, ending a nervous week with gains despite signs of economic weakness at home and worries about public debt in Europe.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> gained 16.47 points, or 0.16 percent, to 10,450.64. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> rose 1.47 points, or 0.13 percent, to 1,117.51. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> added 2.64 points, or 0.11 percent, to 2,309.80. [.N]
* Crude prices rose 1.4 percent on Monday to the highest levels since mid May after China vowed to allow a flexible yuan exchange rate, raising expectations of higher crude imports by the world's No. 2 oil user.
U.S. crude for July delivery <CLc1> rose as much as $1.09 to $78.27, the highest since May 10. It temporarily pared gains as did stock markets after China on Monday set the yuan mid-point unchanged from Friday, and was up 97 cents at $78.15 at 0204 GMT. [ID:nECB000552] [O/R]
* Gold firmed to near a lifetime high on Monday on a weaker U.S. dollar and lingering fear about the global economic recovery as China's vow of a more flexible yuan could spur buying of riskier assets.
Spot gold <XAU=> hit an intraday high of $1,260.20 an ounce, within sight of Friday's record at $1,261.90, and stood at $1,256.10 an ounce by 0241 GMT, up 65 cents from New York's notional close. [GOL/]
