Edgewood, WA, United States (AHN) - Three men and one woman accused of killing a Washington state man and assaulting his family in a home invasion after answering an Internet post were arraigned – the three men on Monday, the woman last week, according to reports.

The three men, Clabon Terrel Bernaird, 23; Kiyoshi A. Higashi, 22; and Joshua N. Reese, 20, pleaded not guilty in a Pierce County, Washington, court to first-degree murder, robbery and assault, according to prosecutor Mark Lindquist. The men each face prison terms of approximately 70 years if convicted.

The fourth suspect, 21-year-old Amanda C. Knight, pleaded not guilty last week to the same charges, reports stated.

Each defendant is being held on $2 million bail at the Pierce County jail. They are scheduled to appear in court June 9.

According to Lindquist, the four are charged with killing James Sanders on April 28 after answering an ad he and his wife posted on Craigslist, selling a diamond ring for $1,050.

The husband and wife agreed to meet the would-be buyers at their home in Edgewood, Washington.

One of the men and the woman posed as a couple looking to buy the ring for the mother-in-law. Once they entered the residence, the male pulled a out a handgun, handcuffed the wife and two sons – 14 and 10 – and pistol-whipped the elder the son.

Sanders broke free from his restraints to protect the elder son and was shot three times. At the same time the other suspects were kicking the mother in the head while on the floor.
