BANGKOK (Reuters) - The Thai government will impose a curfew in parts of Bangkok starting on Sunday evening, a government source said.
World | Thailand
"The curfew would be imposed on areas which lead to the main protest site starting Sunday evening from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m," said a government source close to the prime minister, adding that details would be announced at a media briefing on Sunday.
A curfew would allow authorities to prevent civilians from entering or leaving certain areas. Violation could result in a maximum penalty to two years in prison.
Thousands of anti-government protesters have been gathering in central Bangkok since April 3. Three days of fighting has killed at least 24 people, spiraling into chaotic urban warfare.

Only one person that brought to this chaos in Thailand, it is Thaksin. If government fails to control this crisis, Thai Justice system is good for nothing.

The Thai Justice system wasn’t good to begin with, it wasn’t just because of Thaksin. You can get away with anything in Thailand as long as you have money.

Abhisit best to be speaking of ‘toppling a government’, as he wouldn’t be in power unless the Thai Army had toppled Thaksin’s government, WHICH WAS THE REAL LEGAL VOTED GOVERNMENT AT THE TIME.
There will be no peace in Thailand before this wrong is corrected. The army didn’t and doesn’t have any place making coups against people’s democratic vote. Every government since the army coup, has been nothing but a joke.
Abhisit claims Thaksin is ‘populist’, yes the horror of bringing healthcare and development opportunities to underprivileged poor rural masses who have been neglected by Bangkok’s snot nosed elite since forever.

The red shirt demonstrators have weapons. They have plenty of M79 ,DIY rockets, bottle bombs, marble slingshots. They burn public telephones, garbage trucks, soldier trucks, tyres, break ATM and men in black with guns are hiding among them.

The government and army using snipers to kill protesters who are fighting with bamboo sticks. Haven’t heard of such atrocity anywhere else in the world. That should qualify as crime against humanity

Oh dear the poor insurgents are starving. Too bad their leader would not accept the olive branch offered to them by the Govt. But then it didn’t give him what he wanted: His money back and the power. As to people who dispute that the reds are not paid to get killed. The Thai are VERY volatile and fight at the drop of a hat. Tourists don’t see the underside of Thailand as they stay in their nice hotels and go to all the touristy places. Next time one of you couch potatoes visits watch a Thai’s eyes. The mouth may smile but I guarantee it rarely reaches the eyes.

@Sonny: they are not ‘insurgents’ but defenders of the legal voted government.
Abhisit the PM is the usurper here. Thaksin was the democratically voted PM before army took coup and installed a string of puppets as PM, including the latest one, Abhisit himself.

In 2007 Abhisit was elected as a Representative from Democrat Party the same time as former PM Samak and PM Somchai from People Power Party . At first the prime minister was Samak but PM Samak violated the constitution by hosting TV cooking shows while in office so he had to step down after that Somchai became PM. Later the People Power Party was disbanded by Constitutional Court so PM Somchai and 12 ministers also had to step down then the coalition government parties turned to support Abhisit who was the leader of opposition party (Democrat Party) to become the Prime minister and set the new coalition government.
This is the truth so, please stop accusing PM Abhisit that he was from the coup.If you want to know about the election in 2007 see here
