KARACHI, Nov 26 - Following is a list of events in Pakistan as well as news stories and press reports which may influence financial markets.

* State Bank of Pakistan to release monetary policy statement on Monday.
MARKET SNAPSHOTS
* The rupee <PKR=> eased against the dollar on Thursday to close at 85.62/66 per dollar, compared with Wednesday's close of 85.50/55 amid strong demand for the U.S. currency from importers.
* The Karachi Stock Exchange's benchmark 100-share index <.KSE> ended 0.17 percent, or 19.49 points, lower at 11,135.34.
Turnover was only 86.15 million shares, down from 153.97 million shares traded on Wednesday.
* Foreign investors bought shares worth a net $3.73 million on Thursday.
* Wall Street rallied as U.S. stock investors put aside worries about swirling global problems on Wednesday, turning to improvement in the labour market and signs consumers are ready to open their wallets ahead of the biggest shopping day of the year.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> jumped 150.91 points, or 1.37 percent, to 11,187.28. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> rose 17.62 points, or 1.49 percent, to 1,198.35. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> gained 48.17 points, or 1.93 percent, to 2,543.12. [.N]
* U.S. oil held steady near $84 on Friday, paving the way for its first weekly rise in three weeks, although ongoing concerns about a wider debt crisis in Europe and Chinese inflation continued to weigh in post-holiday thin trade.
U.S. crude for January <CLc1> shed 5 cents to $83.81 a barrel at 0317 GMT. ICE Brent <LCOc1> dropped 40 cents to $85.70 a barrel. [O/R]
* Gold was steady on Friday, trading just shy of $1,400 a ounce, underpinned by anxiety of Europe's debt situation and geo-political tensions in Asia.
Spot gold <XAU=> drifted 88 cents lower to $1,373.24 an ounce by 0106 GMT, trading below its all-time high around $1,424 struck in early November. [GOL/]
