"Love Blossoms 2"
Channel NewsAsia - 1 hour 57 minutes ago
Just as Channel 8 concludes long-running drama series "Love Blossoms" a couple of months back, production for "Love Blossoms 2" also rings completion.
"Love Blossoms 2" unfolds more complex relationships put through tests before arriving at the happily ever after ending. The emotional roller-coaster is sure to resonate in audiences and invokes deeper thoughts about the meaning of family.
Speaking at the press conference, Zheng Geping reveals that the last scene with Ivy Lee left him feeling heavy-hearted; all he wanted to do was to grab a beer and head straight home. Geping goes on to shares the scene that particularly moved him: Zhijin (Ivy) meets up with Kaiwang (Geping) once again after her accident and they embrace in the rain crying. Geping adds with a laugh that he left mucus on Ivy's head from all the crying. In this season, Ivy plays a different Zhijing from who we saw in season one. Gone is the casual dress sense and an open personality; Zhijing has now abandoned her family and appears to be a well-dressed lady who circles the upper class society now. Taking on the same yet different role has turned out to be quite an experience for Ivy.
Patricia Mok, like her usual self, went on about the happenings during shoots for both season one and two at the press conference. Patricia's portrayal of her character was so successful in season one that hawker from her place, who shares the same name as Patricia's character, hates her.Patricia reveals that in season two, her character Caixia is worse than before. The script makes use of her forte and had her do lines for a record of 12 hours non-stop in a day of shooting. Patricia is exceptionally proud of a scene whereby Caixia has to clean a public toilet; she claims to have made one of the studio's restroom cleaner than usual that day.Rayson Tan, who plays Patricia's husband in the show, has learned to value his wife Chen Li Ping even more; on the other hand, she was often seen visiting him at the shoot.
Terrence Cao feels that his character, Wenhao, was not a difficult role to portray as his personal childhood shared some similarities. Yvonne Lim plays a new character, Pan Jiaqi, mostly seen opposite to Terrence. In the drama, she is often clad in black or white clothing and is an overly-principled person who strictly abides by law. Yvonne reveals that her father in the story, Peter Pan (Richard Low), and brother (Calvin Soh) are both playful actors who always made her burst out laughing when she hears "action". She also finds the chemistry between the actors to be exceptionally great for a heart-warming story like this. Yvonne also highlights that her character will reveal a much gentler side of her personal self in the later part of the drama.
Season two also brings growth and maturity to Felicia Chin's character, as she goes through much difficulty in life, such as rape, marital and conceiving problems. Felicia shares that she would miss the cast as they have been working together for a very long time. Her role requires quite a bit of intimacy scenes with Zhang Yaodong and kissing scenes were added last minute during shoot, making her awkward at times. The scene that is more impressionable for her has got to be the rape scene. To allow her to feel the fear and get into character fast, the director really had her blind-folded and tied up. "Love Blossoms 2" begins tonight on Channel 8 at 7p.m., Mondays to Fridays.
