Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

A low pressure system in northern China will bring wet weather on Wednesday. The system will produce a cold front that will trigger showers over northeastern China as it tracks eastward throughout the day.
Expect increasing cloud cover over the Korean Peninsula, but rain will not the region until late Wednesday or early Thursday. Shanghai is expected to be overcast on with a high near 62(F)/ 17(C), while Beijing will be cooler with a high near 53(F)/ 12(C).
In the east, Japan will see sunny skies as high pressure remains over the region, thus, Tokyo will be 59(F)/ 15(C). Meanwhile, a small trough will move through southwestern China and bring scattered showers to Guiyang and Nanning.
Hong Kong will not see any rain but will be partly cloudy with a high near 77(F)/ 25(C). Coastal showers may continue along the shore of Vietnam as moisture air continues to move in from the South China Sea.
To the south, wet conditions will persist over the Pacific Islands, with moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms expected to develop over Indonesia.
In Australia, a low pressure system will move into the Great Australian Bight on Wednesday. This will produce a cold front that is expected to trigger showers that will move eastward through Western and South Australia. Otherwise high pressure will keep the rest of the country dry. Sydney will be overcast with a high near 84(F)/ 29(C).
