MARKET SNAPSHOTS * The Pakistani rupee fell to a record low on Monday because of increased dollar demand for import payments. A currency dealer said the rupee traded as low as 86.07, beating the previous record low on Sept 24 of 86.03. The rupee ended at 86.10/14 to the dollar, compared with Friday's close of 86.04/09. [PKR/] * The Karachi Stock Exchange's benchmark 100-share index <.KSE> ended 0.28 percent, or 27.35 points, higher at 9,936.79. Turnover was 69 million shares, compared with 48.57 million shares on Friday. * The net inflow of foreign portfolio investment in the stock market was $379,351 on Monday. * U.S. stocks slipped on Monday as investors took a break from a four-week rally, but they remained optimistic the advance would resume as a flurry of deals suggested companies were seeing value in the market. The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 48.22 points, or 0.44 percent, at 10,812.04. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 6.51 points, or 0.57 percent, at 1,142.16. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 11.45 points, or 0.48 percent, at 2,369.77. [.N] * Crude fell towards $76 on Tuesday ahead of U.S. reports expected to show fuel stockpiles rose in the world's top oil-consuming nation last week. U.S. crude for delivery in November <CLc1> fell 26 cents to $76.26 a barrel at 0255 GMT, while ICE Brent <LCOc1> slid 32 cents to $78.25. [O/R] * Gold slipped on Tuesday after hitting a lifetime high at $1,300 an ounce in the previous session as a rebound in the U.S. dollar prompted speculators to lock-in gains. Spot gold <XAU=> fell $2.70 an ounce to $1,293.35 an ounce by 0239 GMT, having struck a record on concerns over a global economic recovery and a weaker dollar.
