SEOUL, May 17 - Seoul shares fell across the board on Monday, with ongoing concerns about the euro zone's fiscal woes spurring heavy foreign selling of large caps such as Samsung Electronics <005930.KS> and banking shares.

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index <.KS11> shed 2.60 percent to close at 1,651.51 points.

But individual investors bought a preliminary 761 billion won worth of stocks on the main board, their second biggest single-day purchase on record, according to the Korea Exchange.
