Taiwanese motorcyclists mark AIDS Day
AP - 1 hour 7 minutes ago
TAIPEI, Taiwan - About 200 motorcyclists have joined a parade in a park in Taiwan to raise awareness about AIDS prevention to mark International AIDS Day on Monday.
Wearing black leather outfits and surgical masks bearing images of skeletons, the motorcyclists distributed anti-AIDS red ribbons Sunday to spectators after parking their bikes at a Taipei park.
Vice President Vincent Siew says Taiwan's government has provided free medical care for AIDS patients and taken measures to prevent the disease's spread.
The World Trade Organization says the number of AIDS patients increased by 2.5 million in 2007 to a total of 33 million in the world.
