Underprivileged children go on sponsored shopping trip
Channel NewsAsia - Monday, December 22
SINGAPORE : Last—minute Christmas shopping took on special meaning on Sunday morning, when just over 100 underprivileged children aged between 6 and 12 took to the shops with their adult buddies.
They enjoyed a one—hour shopping spree, armed with a S$70 voucher and well—thought—out list.
The sponsored trip was courtesy of TNT employees and organised by the Lions Club.
An annual ritual since 2003, this was a shopping spree that certainly rung in some retail joy for the kids. — CNA/ms
