Both movies "Jump" and "Sniper", which feature him as their male lead, had problems getting the screening permit approved in China and had to postpone their release dates. However there is now a glimmer of hope for "Sniper".Columbia Pictures and producer of "Jump" Stephen Chow decided to pull out scenes with Chen and replace him with Taiwanese actor Leon Jay Williams. They will proceed with the re-shoot in January 2009. According to reports, Chen was demoralized by this decision.On the other hand, CEO Media Asia Entertainment Group, Peter Lam, has decided to forgo the China market and arrange for "Sniper" to be screened during the Easter season next year outside of China. The investor will also arrange for Chen to be part of the promotional tour in areas outside Hong Kong. Chen, who is currently still in the States, is said to be constantly looking for filming opportunities and taking performing courses to improve his acting skills. Besides, he is also looking for a partner to join his apparel business. Recently, he has successfully lined up his brand "Colt" with Play Station and introduced a set of PSP outfit. To add to the marketing efforts, Chen takes on the modeling in several of the product's advertisements.
