RIM to share some BlackBerry codes with Saudis: source
RIYADH/JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia - Research In Motion <RIM.TO> has agreed to hand over user codes that would let Saudi authorities monitor its BlackBerry Messenger, as it seeks to stop the kingdom from silencing the service, a source close to the talks said on Tuesday. The source said RIM would share with Saudi Arabia the unique pin number and code for each BlackBerry registered there. That will allow authorities to read encrypted text sent via Messenger, an instant messaging service that's distinct from email sent on the BlackBerry.

Florida to sue major LCD makers for price fixing
MIAMI - Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum said on Tuesday he is suing the world's biggest makers of liquid crystal display screens for engaging in a "conspiracy at the highest level" to fix prices. The lawsuit, a civil action to be filed in a California federal court, alleges the defendants "conspired to prevent competition and to increase prices" for TFT-LCD panels, the most common form of LCD panels used in desktop monitors, laptop screens, flat-panel televisions and other electronic devices.
Verizon, Google propose Web traffic rules
WASHINGTON/NEW YORK - Verizon <VZ.N> and Google <GOOG.O> said on Monday that regulators should be able to police Web traffic over cable and telephone lines, but carriers should control the speed of access to content on wireless devices. The joint announcement marks a surprising industry compromise over so-called "net neutrality" -- a term that means high-speed Internet providers should not block or slow information or charge websites to pay for a fast lane to reach users more quickly. But it is unclear if the giant companies can get lawmakers or regulators to move forward with their proposal.
