ShareThis February 15, 2010 9:40 a.m. EST Topics: arts, culture and entertainment, movies, United States Anne Lu - Celebrity News Service Contributor Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) - Vin Diesel has signed on for another installment of the "Chronicles of Riddick" franchise. The 42-year-old actor will be reprising his role as the titular character in the sci-fi action flick. Universal will handle the domestic distribution of "Riddick," while Lionsgate will sell the international rights at the Berlin Film Festival. Also returning is writer/director David Twohy, who helmed and penned the first two films - "Pitch Black" and "The Chronicles of Riddick." He will again direct from a screenplay he wrote. Sources told Variety that the third film will focus on Riddick and will stay closer to the tone of "Pitch Black" rather than the critically panned "Chronicles of Riddick." Diesel will also be starring in another Universal sequel, "Fast and Furious," the fifth installment of the franchise.
