Police: 10 injured in train accident in Bangladesh
AP - 1 hour 9 minutes ago
DHAKA, Bangladesh - Ten people are hurt after two slow-moving passenger trains collided near Bangladesh's capital.
Police chief Abdul Baten says the accident occurred Friday at Rajendrapur Railway Station in Gazipur district after the drivers apparently missed the signal because of dense fog.
The area is 20 miles (32 kilometers) north of the capital of Dhaka.
The official said the injured are being treated at a local hospital, and train communication on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route remains suspended.
Small-scale train accidents are common in Bangladesh because of rundown rail tracks and poor signaling installations.
