Kevin Tsai, Dee Hsu exposed antics of artistes
Channel NewsAsia - Friday, December 26
Taiwanese hosts Kevin Tsai and Dee Hsu exposed on their variety programme "Here Comes KangXi", artistes who are late for events.
On an awards ceremony which the duo hosted, international star Zhang Ziyi was late and put them in a difficult position. Hsu reacted by asking Karen Mok on stage instead to drag time. Recalling the incident, Hsu said, "We didn't have a way out at that point of time. Artistes who are late really cause embarrassments for the hosts."
Hsu also narrates an incident when she was still a singer. There was once when she had to attend an army event with her sister Barbie Hsu, but because of a traffic jam, the event had already ended when they finally arrived. Despite that, the producer harshly demanded the Hsu sisters to get on stage and perform their song, and they can only do as instructed. "I wonder if he was punishing us or granting our wish to promote our songs," she says.
Guest for the variety programme, Pei Zhen (Jane), reveals that she was rushing from one New Year countdown performance for another, and had to transfer transport several times before getting to the destination. However, she knew that even if she were to get there on time, she would have no time to change. Under forced circumstances, she changed and put on her Nu-bra while in the cab. "The cab driver should be busy speeding up and did not notice anything," she laughs.
