Thailand's new Cabinet endorsed by king
AP - 1 hour 25 minutes ago
BANGKOK, Thailand - Thai television says the country's monarch has endorsed the proposed government of new Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.
The Cabinet list was announced on national television after a formal endorsement by King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
The lineup sparked immediate questions about how well the new appointees would be able to end the country's political strife.
The Cabinet includes a foreign minister who was a vocal supporter of the protesters that recently besieged Bangkok's airports, a deputy prime minister who was mired in a corruption scandal and two wives of politicians barred from politics.
Parliament voted Abhisit in on Dec. 15 as Thailand's third prime minister in four months.
