Lions home after 0—0 draw against Vietnam in AFF Suzuki Cup
Channel NewsAsia - Friday, December 19
SINGAPORE: Singapore coach Raddy Avramovic is cautious about the national team’s chances in the return leg against Vietnam at the National Stadium on Sunday.
His caution came after the goal—less draw in the first leg on Wednesday night which he described as the team’s "worst performance" in the ASEAN Football Federation Suzuki Cup.
Despite the draw, hardcore fans gathered at the airport to welcome the Lions home on Thursday afternoon.
These fans and more will be providing the much needed homeground advantage this Sunday where officials said grandstand tickets were sold out within three hours on Thursday.
The coach admitted the team was lucky to draw the first leg but still hopes to make it to the final.
Raddy Avramovic, coach, Singapore Football Team, said: "This game was that case where we didn’t really play well but we have results. Now I just hope we improve our game and that we have results." — CNA/vm
