YES 933 DJ Christina Lim debuts in tele-movie
Channel NewsAsia - Tuesday, December 23
YES 933 DJ, Christina Lim's (or more affectionately known as Peifen to her listeners) sweet looks have earned her the lead female role in tele-movie "Missing You".
Drama is not new for Christina though. She had previously acted in two dramas; however, this is the first time that she is acting in a tele-movie. Christina revealed that she did not specially make any preparations but she did go online to research for tips and information on "techniques to tear immediately" so that she can better bring out her inner feelings.
Christina said, "The greatest pressure I'd to overcome while filming are those crying scenes. I salute those actors who can cry on the spot immediately! Joshua Ang is one of them."
Christina plays Zhen, a young girl whose dream is to perform at a Getai so as to fulfill the wish of her deceased grandmother. During the press conference, Christina also sang the theme song "Missing You" with another actress in the tele-movie, real-life Getai veteran Hsu Chiung Fang.
"I've learnt a lot from Chiung Fang. She is a very good actress. She's very natural when it comes to hosting Getai shows. She lifts up the whole atmosphere easily," exclaimed Christina.
In the tele-movie, Christina is caught in a love-triangle with Joshua Ang (previously starred in Jack Neo's "I Not Stupid") and ex-DJ Dasmond Koh, and she revealed to have given away her first screen kiss in the show! (As to who is the lucky guy who earned her kiss, you have to watch the tele-movie to find out for yourself!)
For the first time acting with Joshua, she describes him as someone who warms and opens up to others slowly. "We didn't talk much at the beginning. But as time goes by, we got to know each other better; he even attempted to make me laugh while I'm acting by making funny faces!"
As for Dasmond, Christina said they have worked together many times and have built strong chemistry and friendship. Christina added that Desmond would give her comments on how to improve her acting and both of them would discuss the story line and work it out together.
Christina recalls the most memorable part during filming was the day before her birthday. "It was the eve of my birthday and I was a little upset that I have to work. When the director shouted "Cut" for a particular scene, I awaited for the next scene to come on. And suddenly, they brought out a cake to celebrate my birthday. I was really touched."
"Missing You" DVD is out in stores now.
