JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Palestinian militants fired three mortar bombs across the Gaza Strip's border on Friday, wounding six Israeli soldiers, the army said.

The Popular Resistance Committees militant group claimed the attack on Nahal Oz, a kibbutz that has a military garrison.

Hours earlier, Gaza's ruling Islamist Hamas faction said two of its gunmen were wounded in an Israeli air strike.

Militants have fired dozens of rockets and mortar bombs at Israel in the past three weeks after Israel launched raids that killed about a dozen gunmen, and closed crossing points with Gaza, choking off some food supplies to the coastal territory.
